Healthy for Life
Program – Health Benefits
When you combine this triad
of healthy lifestyles (Healthy Diet – Modest Exercise Program – Cellular
Nutrition), all of which improve insulin sensitivity, you are able to “tip back”
into a normal metabolic state as you slow down the aging process.
Simple Outline of
Healthy for Life Program
Begin your day with a low Glycemic Index
breakfast – USANA Nutrimeal is great with an index of
only 27. BTW – This is not a calorie
restricting diet: If you feel hungry at
any time during the day, eat another low Glycemic index snack or meal.
Have a low index snack mid
morning
Have another low index lunch
(see supper suggestions) or Nutrimeal
Have a low index snack mid
afternoon.
Have a low index supper,
selecting those foods with a low index number (see list on the reverse).
If you have something with a higher number, balance it with something of
a lower number within the same meal.
When you are working on restoring your insulin sensitivity, it is
important to avoid everything white: white sugar, white rice, white pasta,
white potatoes, and white bread. Incorporate
35 grams or more of dietary fiber to cleanse your system. A fiber test: The
next time you flush; check first – if it floats you’re OK, if it sinks, you’re
sunk!
Exercise moderately for 20-30
minutes five times a week. A brisk walk
is great especially in the fresh air and sunshine.
Supplement with a complete,
balanced,, broad spectrum, pharmaceutical grade
multivitamin/multimineral - the environmental insult we experience
today is beyond what the best diets can protect us from.
Flush your tissues with purified
water – distilled or reverse osmosis.
Drink half of your body pound weight in ounces of water. If you weigh 140 pounds – you need 70 ounces
of water daily. Purified water washes
toxins out of the tissues.
Keep a journal to track your progress and be accountable.
